The Hound of the Baskervilles
by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
designed by Joseph J. Tobin
I knew that I wanted to work with fiction; it’s a genre I know well and thought it would be a clean(er) entry into learning the basics of typesetting and interior design. I was looking mostly at genre fiction, and settled on Hound in part because I haven’t actually read it before (see below re: intended audience); and in part because the Gutenberg edition contained reproductions of illustrations that appeared in the original publication, which are cool to look at, and would also teach me the basics of image placement.

Target Audience
The goal is to bring this book back to market for the “I’ve always been meaning to read this” reader, with an edition that is (hopefully) attractive and eye-catching, but without the austerity or production demands of a true gift edition. The hope is to make you excited to read the book, and also maybe to hang on to your edition when you’re done.
